Plus Multi Purpose Music Lab System
 The
Yamaha LC2 Plus is an affordable multi purpose music lab ,developed for Yamaha by
J.L. Cooper, that features a modular and expandable design that makes it
perfect for a variety of different electronic instruments and classroom
situations. The core system consists of a rack mounted Hub (LCH1) that
can be controlled by a Teacher Controller Console (LC2) and/or optional computer-based
software. The basic core system includes: HUB, teacher console, (9)
headsets w/mics, (9) SB2 students boxes, and all cabling. The basic 8-channel system can be expanded via user
installable 8 channel option cards to accommodate up to 48 students and
comes with everything you will need to add another 8 students.
This allows you to start with an exceptionally affordable system and
then expand in the future as needed, or as new funds become available.
It works with any musical instrument with an output or headphone jack,
including portable keyboards, guitars, digital drums, silent horns and
string instruments.
The SB2 student boxes have connections
for headphones, headset microphones, a stereo instrument and computer
audio inputs/outputs. They are connected to the hub via inexpensive
and readily available CAT5 cables further reducing system cost and
make installation easier. All of the cables from the student boxes can
be easily hidden since the hub can be and should be remotely located.
There is 1 wire only that connects the HUB to the teachers remote console. The
remote teacher console (LC2) is small enough to easily fit on the top of
the teacher's keyboard or be carried in one hand. One unique feature
of the Yamaha music lab controller is the ability to store up to 8
different class configurations for easy recall at the touch of a
button. The other exciting possibility is to use a single keyboard for
two students with full lab functionality to even further reduce system
costs.

Software allows for a birds-eye-view control over larger lab
configurations. Using a standard Ethernet connection, you computer talks
directly to the LC2 instantly recalling your favorite setups of student

MLM software icons are customizable, you can give each student a name
instead of a number. Keep track of student attendance and grades of
